Grammy Likes & Dislikes

Hola Fashionista's,

I think we as bloggers are always so eager to see the awards/fashon shows because we get to see the new fashions.  Of course, we always find the best and worst dressed celebs but its always so entertaining to watch.  Below I've listed some of my fashion love's and hate's from last nights Grammy's.

BEST DRESSED

By far the best dressed of the night for me was Kelly Rowland in Georges Chakra, that dress is everything: the color, the style, the fit...100% in my book.

Rihanna in Azzedine Alaia, a bold crimson color choice with a gorgeoug train to follow, this dress fits the shape of RiRi's body and matches her skin tone perfectly.

JLo's remedy of Angelina's dress was to die for...memo to who about what dress code? No doubt she has the perfect body for this slit-to-crotch Anthony Vaccarelllo dress. I just loved it.

Solange looks stunning in this Ralph and Russo Couture dress & she also happens to be in my favorite color.  I loved this look on her.

WORST DRESSED

The worst dressed of the night for me was Adele in Giorgio Armani, although happy that she was not clad in all black and chose to do some color, this dress just did not do it for me...just a tad bit of too much print for me.

MEN'S WEAR

Now my best and worst dress for the men were pretty easy to select.  I thought most of the guys did great with their fashion picks but I wanted to point out the ont that stood out the most to be for the best and worst dressed.

Chris Breezy, I thought his all white Lanvin suit combo was simple and I loved it.  I love to see C.B. dressed up, he looks like a different man when he's all suited all.

On another note, The Dream truly disappointed me with his selection, I don't even care to mention what he had on. This is the Grammy's and you come dressed like your about to hop on a motorcycle and ride around the world.  Worst dressed 2013.

Who did you pick as your Best and Worst Dressed?

Wu'd by Inauguration

Fahionista’s
No doubt Inauguration is about the President, but we all know that everyone was secretly watching and waiting to see what FLOTUS Michelle would be wearing.  Just like four (4) years ago she stunned us with not only her inauguration day outfit but her ball dress as well.  I just love our First Family, and Obama and Michelle are the ultimate power couple…I want to be just like them when I go up…lol.  Seriously, not only did the First Lady display her fabulous fashionista side, but the girls, who are growing up right before our eyes showed their style as well.  They kept with the tradition with using both Jason Wu and J Crew and then threw in the fabulous Kate Spade, all fashionable pieces and quite affordable.  Now if the American people don’t see how laid back our Presidential Family is I don’t know what else to say…Simply beautiful.  I hope you all enjoyed the Holiday/Inauguration.  What did you Fashionista’s think about Michelle’s Inauguration outfits?

Back 2 Business...2013 Blogger Goals

Hi Fashionista's,

For those of you visiting my blog for the very first time.  Thank you...and welcome to Miles of Fashion, I have been running my blog for over a year now.  My blog is something that I decided to contribute to my life.  I do this not just as a hobby, but also because I love fashion...reading, watching, and seeing it.  This year I plan on dedicating much more time to my blog, especially since I have now finished school (hooray for me).  One goal down and many more to accomplish.  I came up with some goals for 2013 that will help me be more consistent with my blog.  I am taking a more active role to give my readers a reason to continue to support me.

Motives = Motivation

Hey Fashionista's,

Now I'm not one to wear make-up, mainly because I'm not quite there yet with applying it.  Don't get me wrong, I would love to enhance my features for special occasions, or hell just because I feel like wearing make-up, but it's quite a task when you absolutely no idea of where to start.  My make-up regime (or lack there is) is simply lipstick and mascara and that's about it.  Now last Friday, I attended a beauty event that featured the Motives product.  Some of you may be familiar with Motives, LaLa Anthony has a collection with them that she actually promoted on her show LaLa's Full Court Life.  Needless to say, at this beauty event, I was introduced to Motives Custom Blend and I loved it.  The custom blend is something that I can see myself using for sure, it's a custom blend foundation that matches perfectly with your skin, I mean it really blends in well.  It was just perfect and my face still looked natural after it was applied, it was like a had a glow...lol (not that kind of glow).  Now not only did they have the custom blend, they also had glosses, lipstick and eye shadow to name a few.  I did purchase the custom blend, but I didn't get a chance to get any lipstick, there were some great colors that I wanted such as Red Coral, Majenta and Raspberry Burst, so now I MUST plan on hosting a party so I can get my fall/winter pop of colors in.  Below you will see the pics I was able to get of the event before it got kind of crazy.

What are some of your favorite make-up collections that you use?

This fall there are so many options to choose from, although I'm not looking to completely overhaul my current wardrobe I am looking to add some gorgeous key pieces to it. I have seen so many items that I want to add, but wanted to share with you guys a few that are on my radar, these are not considered my favorites, my investment pieces in a way. What are some investment pieces you are currently eyeing?

Thursdays-Rip the Runway - DVF

I became a huge fan of Diane Von Furstenburg-DVF from watching Whitney Port (who now happens to have her own line) from "The Hills" and "The City" intern for her.  DVF's fashions are just to die for, and I often find myself browsing the web just to see what's the latest that she has come up with.  There's no surprise that prints are a trademark of hers an in this Fall 2012 collections, she gives us work-ready attire-suits, blouses and shifts in the mix.  The fabric is just so freaking cute.  Take a look at just some of my favorites.

October - Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hi Fashionista's,

I wanted to take a quick post and just mention to you guys about the importance of getting mammograms.  While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the necessary steps to have a plan to detect the disease in it early stages (early detection is the best protection.  Although I don't know anymore personally who have endured this particular disease, I do know others who have had some form of Cancer.  So I encourage you all to get a mammogram and while your doing that I challenge you to GO PINK FOR OCTOBER...Rock your pink ribbon or simply rock the color pink.

Fashion Fall Favs

I am so excited that Fall is arriving.  It's the perfect weather to me, I can wear jeans, scarfs, sweaters, blazers, heels, boots and flats.  You name it, you can wear it.  I have fallen in love with layering my clothes founding the outfit that can work for a single look or work in multiple ways by justing adding that extra piece of fabric.  I have been focusing on purchasing cardigans, sweaters, botton down tops and different scarfs to create different looks to add into my ever growing closet.  But, hey you can never go wrong with having too many clothes, especially if you have the perfect ensemble pieces.  Below I've listed some of my favorite fall looks, check them out.

What are some of your Fashion Fall Favs?

Welcome Back...Welcome Back...Wel-come Back

I am soooo excited to be back on the blogging world.  oh how I've  missed it.  I was down and out for way to long, but everything has fallen onto place the way its suppose to.  I know I have missed a lot of things, events and postings while I was away, so I have a lot of catching up to do.

My first event back to the blogging world was the Bloggers Like Me Me-etup, created by the fabulous Fashion Du Jour she has created something great here, BLM allows bloggers from all over to network with each other, and of course we all love to do that.  I literally signed up for BLM two (2) days before the meetup and was welcomed with open arms.  I attended the first BLM meetup for the DMV last Thursday and was lucky enough to meet some fabulous bloggers (some I knew, some I didn't).  All in all it was great to be welcomed back with a   Here's a recap of of the event with some photos that I did manage to take from my iPhone.
