Happy Friday Ladies and cheers to the freaking weekend. I must say that I have been in a good mood over the last few days, but things are definitely starting to look up for me. I had a busy weekend. My sister celebrated her 35th birthday with fam and friends and I must say we had a fab time. I took lots of pictures but most of them were taken to go in my scrapbook. We celebrated her b-day Friday night at club Parva in Bethesda, and on Saturday (her actual born day) we had a family dinner at G&M restaurant in Maryland. They have the absolute best crab cakes. I encourage all my DMV folks to try them out. I did get a few pics of my outfit so I'll post them below. Valentines day is coming up soon, what are some of your plans?

Happy Sunday, it has been a great weekend and I hope you ladies enjoyed it. Although today feels great, I was just not in the mood to take any pictures today, I wanted to enjoy my lazy Saturday and enjoying is what I'm doing. It also gives me enough time to catch up on some of my school work and of course my blog reading. For the new year I had challenged myself to not only wear my accessories more, but to also purchase more of them as well. specifically bracelets, bangles & watches. I have definitely been inspired by the arm parties that I have been seeing around town and from some of my blogger friends. I have done the arm party so much but never thought to take pics and when I did take them, it was with my cell phone...so unlike me because I keep my camera in my purse at all times but when your having fun (or when I'm having fun) that's the last thing on my mind. I wanted to share with you a couple of arm parties that I did take pics of with my cell phone of course and also my accessory box that's filled to the brim. I don't know what options to use for organizing them, currently researching unique ways for that...please help.

Again, to all my followers I am sorry for the lack of post and I promise to try to keep them coming. 2012 just has not been starting off in my favor, but its nothing I can't handle. I'm putting that "S" on my chest. I have been down and out and sitting at home feeling blue. I was so excited because tonight was the very first CapFabb Event of 2012 and I planned on attending, everyone knows once you get out and about you get out of that rut and I must say that I was looking forward to it. Then in comes the family issue (inserts sad face here) and now my outing with all my fashionable bloggers looked like it wasn't going to happen. Sorry I've been away so long but I have been handling some real life issues, what a start of the 2012 year for me, hoping everything works out in my favor. I wanted to post my outfit that I wore to a day party Saturday. I really needed to just hang out with my friends and not think about the "REAL WORLD" for a least one night. I just love this blazer, its one of my favorite blazers I found thrifting, one of the things that I have become obsessed with doing...lol. Also what do you ladies think of my hair, for those of you who follow me on twitter you know that I have challenged myself to not put any heat in my hair for the next six months. This was my first time doing bantu knots and I thought the end results came out pretty decent considering that I don't do hair at all. Anyway hope you ladies enjoy the pics.

Hi Fashionista's,

I hope you all enjoyed your holiday and got what your heart desired. So the countdown to the New Year...2012 is just 4 days away, I can't believe that this year is over. I have had some ups and downs and have made some changes and I plan to take those changes with me into 2012, I've learned to appreciate ME more & I've also starting back with writing in my journal. This particular post, I wanted to give you ladies a sneak peak on my vision wall and book. I first heard about the vision book from Necole Bitchie I just love her and I had been going back & forth with myself on whether I should do a board or a book, so I decided that I would do a book that would showcase my life's goals that I would like to accomplish or do over the next few years, the wall...I had to first see the best location, at first I thought behind my bed, but then I realized that its something that I will need to look at or add to everyday, so I decided to put my vision wall up directly in front of my bed, it will be the first thing I see when I wake and the last thing I see when I go to sleep. I'm starting with a clean slate, fresh and new and I must say I am excited to see the outcome and my vision wall will be a constant reminder. I have taken a few pics of some of my items that I purchased and of course my clippings and any ideas that you ladies have for me I would be more than happy to hear. I want to thank the person who created blogging. I love to take pictures and write so it works out so well for me. When I first started blogging I thought it would just be something that I would do for fun, but over the past few months I have learned so much and I know this is something that I would continue to do. I know black Friday is coming up but I just couldn't resist the sales that are already going on. I went to the mall to purchase a pair of black tapered pants (on my lunch break) and ended up with the two beauties listed below. Another two boxes to stuff in my already over-crowded closet. I will soon have to re-organize it for better use of space. Needless to say I never made it into the store to get my black pants because I ran slightly overtime...lol. Unlike some of you who may have stayed home on this holiday I had to work. So instead of wearing my usual slacks and blouses, I opted for some jeans and a button down top with a vest. My company is pretty business casual but we only wear slacks on Friday's, half-days, which is usually the Friday before a Holiday or when we have special events. I have been extremely busy, work and school have taken completely over. Between audits and writing papers I don't know if I'm coming or going. I am so in need of a vacation...Any who, The weather here in DC has been great, although we've had some rain over the last week, it has been very refreshing. So today I was finally able to take some pics for an outfit post...I know, its been awhile. The dress that I have on I got from Target for only $20 bucks. This was my 2nd time rocking this beautiful floral piece and I absolutely love it. The colors are so vibrant (major color-blocking this way) and everytime I look at the dress it makes me smile. :)

This past weekend I attended a Purple & White Midnight Cruise B-Day Party on the Spirit of Baltimore. I figured this woulb be fairly easy because I had a lot of purple in my closet, but not so much white. So I decided to put my purple skirt I got not to long ago to work...again. My friends and I decided to stay overnight in B-More since the boat was not arriving back to the Harbor until 4am. I had a fabulous time and enjoyed spending it with my friends and family. That morning we had brunch at Miss Shirley's Cafe the atmosphere was great, but I was disappointed with the menu, but of course I made the best out of it. The ride home was smooth, my friends and I talked about our other upcoming events that we plan to attend this year along with our 2012 planned trips...yes I said 2012, we have 4 trips planned so far and I'm overly excited about them. I know I'm late with my posting but a lot has been going on lately. My born day (b-day) was July 24th. I had a b-day dinner with my closest's family and friends on Friday July 22nd. My sister's baby shower was on that Saturday so I was major busy with that. I have attended a total of 3 baby showers about a week apart, pics to come soon from those as well. I wanted to share with you the amazing time I have at my dinner party which was held at the The Oceanaire Seafood Room the food was great and so was my guest. My post today is inspired by my blue pencil skirt. I've had this skirt for years…so long I can't recall where I purchased it from. I found this baby in the back of my closet way deep down in that jungle...lol. It has been extremely HOT here in DC, so I have vowed to wear skirts all this week. I’m glad I made that decision, because it’s been too darn hot to wear slacks. I had my brother to take a few photos of me to post and I’m secretly using my sister’s computer to upload my pics…shhhh. Anyway back to the skirt, I just love the color, it stands out completely. I opted to wear my black netted top with specks of blue, white and fuschia along with my fuschia heels. Ok, so it looks like me and my camera will soon part ways. I’ve had it for two years now & its still working but since I’ve lost my USB cord, I can’t tell if my camera’s USB port just doesn’t work or if it’s the two other USB cords that don’t work. I am back to the blogging world, well not 100% but I’m almost there. I lost my camera’s USB cord, and then my laptop starting acting up on me. So I need a new USB cord to upload my pictures, plus a battery for my laptop. A little sad because I can’t blog at work unless I get some down time which, isn’t often. I have the opportunity to do it right now, so I wanted to tell you guys about my new shoe purchase. When I saw them, I feel in love. I do a lot of shopping it’s one of my many favorite things to do, just like my blogging. I was doing some online shopping and guess what I came across? My shoes. I took them with my camera but because my USB cord is missing the online pics are the next best thing. I can’t wait to show you guys what I will wear them with. I have the perfect outfit. I am going on vacation on Friday, and hopefully when I come back everything will be up & running. I will have so many things to share with you.

A Night To Remember

So sorry that I have been neglecting my blog…its become one of my favorite things to do since I started it. I have been quite the busy bee literally, with work and school and just events that I have been invited to. Not a lot of time in a day, at least for me. I have taken pics of my outings just haven’t found the time to put them up yet. I promise you guys this weekend I'll catch myself up J. I wanted to share with you all a few photos from my baby sister and cousin (who’s growing up into such beautiful ladies) prom pics. I am so excited for them, they are closing the first chapter of their life to embark on possibly a new chapter that will be the start of their future. Today was my best friend of 12 years 28th birthday. We celebrated her day with a dinner at the infamous Ruth's Chris Steak House Quite surprised we didn't have to do any dishes afterwards...joking. ME & MY GIRLFRIENDS

Hello world. I know I’m late but since Essence has declared April 13^th as “Girlfriends Appreciation Day” I wanted to share with you a few photos of me & my friends. I am glad to say that I have known these ladies for over 10 yrs & counting. Even though we’ve changed and we’re all finding our own place in the world, we all know that when the tears fall or the smile spreads across our face, we’ll come to each other because no matter where this crazy world takes us, nothing will ever change so much to the point where we’re not all still friends…I love my girls.

Karaoke Night = Fun Times

Ok...so my older sis set up an evening for the ladies to get together and have a great night out. I must admit, I enjoyed my Friday night out with a few family and friends at the Italian Inn Restaurant & bar. There were drinks food and karaoke singing going on. Although I didn't get up and sing I did enjoy watching everyone else who did. My cousin song "Getting In The Way" by Jill Scott. My sister song "Tyrone" by Erykah Badu, her co-worker Joy song "Can We Talk" by Tevin Campbell & had me singing it the following day. Overall it was a great night and my friends and I plan to visit that spot again...Until next time, XOXO.
